BriqLab

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 19, 2026

This policy explains what data BriqLab collects, why, how we use it, and your rights. It is written to comply with India's DPDP Act 2023 and is consistent with international standards including the EU GDPR.

1. Who we are

BriqLab is an AI workspace for Power BI professionals. We build the tools that help analysts, consultants, and BI teams review dashboards, generate DAX, design themes, and pull together the rest of their reporting work — and we publish a set of certified custom visuals on Microsoft AppSource that plug into the same workflow.

This policy explains what happens to the data you share with us while you use any of those tools — the website, the workspace, and the visuals. It applies to visitors, free-plan users, and paying subscribers alike.

We are the data fiduciary (controller) for personal data collected through BriqLab. That means we decide what data we collect, why, and how it's used — and we're the team you hold accountable for those decisions.

For any privacy-related query — a question, a correction, a deletion request, or anything in between — write to hello@briqlab.io. We aim to respond within a few business days.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

When you sign up or use BriqLab, you may provide:

  • Name and email address
  • Account credentials
  • Profile details — company, role, social profile links
  • Payment information processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers)
  • Content you upload to BriqLab — Power BI screenshots, project notes, DAX measures, themes, and prompts you send to our AI tools
  • Communications you send to support, including the contents of your support tickets and emails

2.2 Information we collect automatically

When you use BriqLab, we automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location (city-level only, derived from IP)
  • Browser type, device type, operating system
  • Pages you visit, features you use, and timestamps
  • Performance and error data to help us improve the product

2.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information from:

  • Our payment processor (Razorpay) — transaction status, not full card details
  • Single sign-on providers if you choose to log in via Google or another provider
  • Microsoft AppSource — install counts and aggregate usage for visuals we publish there

3. Why we collect it

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To operate BriqLab — create your account, deliver features, run AI tools on your prompts and screenshots
  • To process payments and send invoices
  • To send transactional emails — receipts, password resets, account notifications, security alerts
  • To send service updates and, with your consent, marketing emails you can opt out of at any time
  • To improve BriqLab — analyse aggregate usage, identify bugs, optimize features
  • To respond to support requests
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • To comply with legal obligations and tax requirements

4. What we don't do with your data

We want to be explicit:

  • We do not train our AI models on your customer data, screenshots, DAX measures, or project content
  • We do not sell your personal information to third parties — ever
  • We do not share your project content between accounts
  • We do not access your projects except for technical support requested by you, or where required to investigate abuse

5. AI processing

When you use our AI tools, your inputs (prompts, screenshots, DAX) are sent to AI model providers for processing. We work with reputable providers under contracts that require them to:

  • Not train their general models on our customers' data
  • Delete inputs and outputs within a short retention window
  • Provide appropriate security and confidentiality safeguards

Inputs to AI tools are stored in your project for your future reference. You can delete project content at any time from your account.

6. Cookies and tracking

BriqLab uses cookies and similar technologies. In short: we use essential cookies for login, optional analytics cookies, and no third-party advertising cookies. You can change your choice anytime from the cookie settings link in the footer.

7. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients, and only as necessary to operate BriqLab:

  • Payment processor — Razorpay (Razorpay Software Private Limited)
  • Cloud hosting — our hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Email delivery — transactional email service used to send receipts and notifications
  • Analytics — privacy-respecting analytics service to understand product usage
  • AI inference — AI model providers as described in Section 5
  • Customer support tooling — used by our support team to respond to your tickets

We may also disclose data when required by law, by court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BriqLab, our users, or others.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

8. International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside India. Where we transfer your data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections required by applicable law.

9. Data retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as needed:

  • Account data — for as long as your account is active, plus 12 months after closure for accounting and legal purposes
  • Project content — until you delete it, or 90 days after account closure, whichever is sooner
  • Payment records — retained as required by Indian tax law (typically 7 years)
  • Support tickets — 3 years after resolution
  • Marketing email lists — until you unsubscribe

10. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act 2023 and other applicable privacy laws, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Right to withdraw consent — for any processing based on consent
  • Right to grievance — raise complaints with us first, then with the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved

To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@briqlab.io. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

11. Children

BriqLab is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, write to hello@briqlab.io and we will delete it promptly.

12. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Encryption at rest for sensitive data
  • Access controls and audit logs
  • Regular security reviews and dependency updates

No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, write to hello@briqlab.io immediately.

13. Data breach notification

If we become aware of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a significant risk to your rights or interests, we will notify you and the relevant authorities within the timeframes required by applicable law.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The updated version will be posted on our website with a new "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
